how do you know if it has clones?

this looks completely different when i put it in scal on the print preview. i cant find the extra lines in illustrator and why wont it cut the lines that are given to it? thanks

to GrammyKrausse if i color it in it wont cut at all. it shows up gray on the print preview.

scal seems to be inserting extra lines. i made 4x6ribbon3 in inkscape and 4x6ribbonA in illustrator - the lines dont show up in print preview but do when i cut. 4x6 ribbonA.svg 4x6ribbon3.svg for the one in inkscape i tried the stroke path, path union, path break apart thing but it only seemed to ge...

when i weld something inside another thing it doesnt cut at all please help!

i cut and pasted to a new window in Inkscape and the stray line went away!i cut the frame out and it looks great!
am i doing something wrong in the making of these frames? i seem to need help with all of them. or should i just uninstall and reinstall Inkscape?

could you be more specific? cause ink says i only have one layer and must select two paths to preform a difference

that is how it should look but its still cutting twice.

i cant seem to separate in interior line from the exterior
i did the select all
stoke to path
path union
path break apart
but when i try to delete the inner line it deletes the whole thing...grr
