Extra lines in scal

scal seems to be inserting extra lines.
i made 4x6ribbon3 in inkscape
and 4x6ribbonA in illustrator - the lines dont show up in print preview but do when i cut.

for the one in inkscape i tried the stroke path, path union, path break apart thing but it only seemed to get worse so i uploaded the original file.

Your images are both made mostly of lines. SCAL requires all images to be closed forms. If you don't have closed forms, SCAL will cut the extra lines. One way you can fix this is to connect each of the end nodes to make the closed shapes. Another way is to select the entire image, make a bitmap copy, trace it, break it apart, and delete the extra pieces. You could also use the paint bucket, but I didn't get good results with that, maybe Firstcut could help you there.

I did this one, it had an extra line down the side. try it now.

some of the lines are not connected, or I shoud say they are broken lines. If you color your svg file you'll see where they need the nodes connected.

it still has lines in the preview in scal

to GrammyKrausse if i color it in it wont cut at all. it shows up gray on the print preview.

It sounds like a lot of steps, but making the bitmap copy and tracing it was the fastest solution. Here are the cleaned up files.
