I layered patterned paper and added gold ribbon. I stamped a pointsettia with embossing ink. Then heat embossed gold embossing powder. I then painted on pearlescent inks. Then stickled the edges. The picture isn't that good tho.

Well, have never tried embossing yet, but I just bought a heat gun and a set of those multi-colored ink pads that you can pop out. Was told to used pigment ink and then put clear embossing powder on it and used the heat gun. But I see you used embossing ink (no clue what it is). I still have so much to learn and you are so talented with your designs and techniques. Haven't had time to try the method I described, but will soon. Maybe you can just tell me if you ever did heat embossing this way and what embossing inks are?

I have seen this done with a clear embossing ink pad and you wet the stamp and stamp the paper and then sprinkle on powders with colors in them and then heat them up and they look COOOOOL! I have also heard that even ink from a printer on the printed page if done on BEST for heaviest can then be sprinkled with the powder and heated up with the gun. You are going to be showing us some more neat stuff now Sandy. Have fun!

There are embossing inks, I have quite a few of them. You can then just heat them. This card in particular I used clear embossing pad (the refill bottle has clear liquid or ink) and then I sprinkled the gold embossing powder over it and it just sticks to what you emboss. Then you heat it and the gold melts onto it. I also use just clear embossing powder which makes it like a lacquer when heated with the heat gun. The embossing inks I buy most are Versa Color inks. I also like to use Color Box Chalk Ink, not really to emboss, I just love the texture of those inks and they are great for color blending. (And, I would never laugh. We all start there and grow. I stamped for many years and made cards before I started scrapbooking and then into the cutters, etc.

Thanks for the info. I never did this...but if I ever extend my supplies list..this is something I would like because just look at the GREAT things that can be done.

That's true, and there is even more techniques, etc. than I do! It's ENDLESS!!!! But I love it!
