Questions regarding firmware

Do I need to purchase the CDS CD to update my firmware? I have the baby bug and need to update the firmware to 1.1

If I use the "free" CDS software from Hallmark will I be able to update my firmware? I have read that people have had alot of issues with updating and the solution has been to uninstall CDS and reinstall witht he CD.

I want to purchase SCAL but not the CDS - any suggestions???

The issues others have been having is with the CDS updates to the software, not anything to do with the firmware update. Seems that maybe PC has put a little something in their updates that are causing some extra cuts for SCAL users, so it's been recommended that if this happens to you, uninstall the update and reinstall the original version of CDS.

If you look at Craft Edge's website, Todd has included the download for the trial version of CDS to get your firmware updated so you can cut your SCAL fonts. Here's the link to the SCAL FAQ's section where the download link is located in question #8:
