shadowing
can anyone tell me how to shadow in scl or do we have to do that in inscape.thanks
Re: shadowing
This is how I explain it.. You don't need Inkscape to shadow. When you have Sure Cuts A Lot open there is a property box. When you click or type on the letter or make the word you want .. look at the properties box. (Before you go on to the next step , make a copy and paste from the Edit menu and be sure your item is highlighted..) Drag your copy to the side and with it highlighted look On the top of the Properties box, it says Style... Normal.. click on the drop down arrow and you will see choices of shadow, Blackout, Shadow Blackout and Mixed. Click on Shadow or any other choice and you will see the letter of Word which you have highligted change to the shadow. The amount or degree of shadow is controlled to the right of the .. It is on 3 You can change it to a higher number and clicking and you will get a bigger shadow etc. If this doesn't make sense.. someone else will explain it better I am sure.

Re: shadowing
You don't have to type each letter individually to weld! Just type the word and with the box highlighted around the whole word just click on weld in the properties box. Then you can move your letters together so they touch - no need to click weld for each letter! Welding is SOOOOO easy in this program!! Have fun!
Re: shadowing
Then to do to shadow, click on the welded word, hold down Ctrl and the letter C for copy. Click somewhere else on the mat and hold down Ctrl and the letter V to paste. Move the new copy where it doesn't cover up anything. In the properties box, click the drop-down to choose Shadow. You can choose a size from 1 - 5 to indicate how big you want the shadow - I usually leave the default of 3. Now you have your original and the shadow with the same weld. place the color of paper you want on each area of the mat where the two objects will cut then cut.
