GCC Expert II

Post by KimCraftyCorner »

hello I am trying to get my machine to work with SCAL. I was told they work but SCAL will not find the machine. It is an GCC Expert 24 II. It is in the list as Expert 24 but will not connect. Please help.

Did you confirm that you're assigning the same COM Port in the SCAL Cut Settings window that currently works with whatever cutting program you can currently use to cut to the Expert II?

I am not currently using another program. I have it in the USB port. The port is on "auto detect". This is all new to me.

I recommend looking up in the user manual how to get the driver installed. Once your computer recognizes it as a USB device connected to a COM Port, then you should be able to get it working.

Did you buy this cutter new? If so, then your GCC dealer should help you with this part. If not, then seek out a user forum for GCC... I remember there being one a few years ago, but I cannot recall the name of it. Or you can try this link at the T-Shirt forums... it's a dedicated GCC section: http://www.t-shirtforums.com/gcc-brand-vinyl-cutters/

Oh... and I just found this video... see if it helps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzOh7bfcglQ

Once you know that COM Port assignment, then you can try SCAL again.
