quilting designs
I have succeded in cutting fabric with my Expression and pleasantly impressed with the intricate designs I was able to cut. I only used one of the cartridges for practice, and really wasn't concerned about what I was cutting, but the process. But while I was searching for designs for cutting, it dawned on me that some of these shapes could be cut out of cardstock and used as stencils for quilting designs. "Real" quilting stencils are from $5 and up depending on how big they are. Cutting our own stencils would not only save money, but being able to design exactly what you want to fill in a space is an awesome possiblity! Somebody may have already thought of this and actually doing it, but it was a new idea to me and just wanted to pass it along for somebody that might be interested. I love the possibilities of using SCAL!

Re: quilting designs
I don't quilt, but I have cut template plastic on the Cricut to make stencils/templates for other things. So that is an option if you need something more durable than cardboard.
