Love the glass block. It turned out so pretty. I can't believe how expensive those blocks are! I haven't found any for under $10.00 each. I'd like to find some with holes in the bottom so you can insert a light. You did a great job and thanks for sharing your art with us.

Lindamac,
Hob. Lob. has blocks with holes. Their glass items go on sale for half price often, making them under $10.

Another option is to drill your own holes. I found glass blocks at Menards for under $4 each, and then drilled them. The drill bit is a little pricey, but we did 80 blocks before Christmas, and it was well worth it.

We used a 5/8 inch diamond core bit, which I got at Lowe's. It's important when using drilling glass to keep the bit wet so you don't ruin it.

JDahlie, unfortunately Hobby Lobby hasn't made it to Vegas yet. We are so behind the times for being such a big city. When I checked at Lowe's they were $10.00 each! I will have to check again. Maybe someone bought the cheap ones before I got there.

This is gorgeous. Did you use paper to cut the letters, flakes and icicles? Does the glass open up and you put the paper inside? How did you adhere the paper? If the paper is on the outside, how is the paper protected from damage? This is so pretty!

I have some more ideas, like how to make a light, where you can change the picture/cricut cut out for the seasons..

Also I ordered some lights from walmart, where you can insert your cricut design, but they are out of stock. They came from
www.photolightframes.com but are more expensive there.
19.95 for a 5x7. I don't know how walmart does it, but there were selling two for 16.84. 5x5 size is 9.95 Anyway they work like the glass block lights. you can change the picture whenever you want, and would make a good gift.

These are pix of walmart/photoframelights...
