Hi i have scanned some drawings and saved in adobe then transfered it in to inkscape saved it in there as a svg file but can't import to sure cuts alot2 what am i missing, would be very greatful if some one could help me on this

are you saving as 'Inkscape .svg's'?(there are other options...so just wondering)
are you using the SVG tap at the top of SCAL2 to open the file as oppose to using import...which I am not sure if it makes a difference, but worth a try.
Does SCAL say something about the file...like 'will not accept this file type' or
'there is no vector image' ?
What is happening exactly?

You need to convert the raster image to a vector. Firstcut has a tutorial guide on her blog for different types of images. http://cleversomeday.wordpress.com/images-to-svg/
