Cutting with Silhouette using SCAL 3

After I get everything lined up on my virtual mat and cut it out, it does not cut in the same place as it was on the virtual mat (make sense?). I try to cut several layers at the same time with several different pieces but some cuts are partially on and partially off the paper and some cut into the other pieces of paper. Am I not doing something right? Can someone please help me with getting things lined up properly? Thanks!!!

thanks gj1. Maybe it is just me. I am going to try making practice cuts this weekend and see if I cant figure it out!!

Maybe just leave a compensation 1/4 inch between pieces and give enough room for things to be off just a tiny bit.
