What am I doing wrong?!
OK, I've been having this problem since 2009-ish, and I've asked a few times, but no one seems to know what I'm talking about. Maybe I'm the only one this is happening to, but here I am, trying again... I have an SVG file of a silhouette of some flowers. When I preview it in SCAL, it looks fine. However, when I go to cut it, it cuts the flowers like all of them are somehow over-lapping. Please help me! I need this file for a birthday card for the 23rd, and both the Cricut and my SCAL software are about to have a catastrophic "accident."

Re: What am I doing wrong?!
I am not sure but I downloaded and looked at it. I did not cut but I changed a couple of places where the lines were crossing each other so I fixed that but it shouldn't make all flowers cut wrong. I have saved again as svg. Just maybe it will help that I saved it again. I don't know. Try to cut and see if that helped. If not maybe someone more exp will come along and see something I did not see and help. I hope this works for you.

NCBORN, thanks for trying to help. Unfortunately, I'm still having problems. Here's what it looks like when I cut
This is not the first file to do this, by any means. In fact, almost every file I try does this, and I can't figure out why. I have changed the speed and the cut pressure, but to no avail.

Re: What am I doing wrong?!
It's almost as if it's cutting like you have the trial version of scal.. Do you have a fully loaded registered paid version?? Also are you using SCAL1 or 2??? SCAL1 has a problem cutting SCAL2 files..

Re: What am I doing wrong?!
Sadly, I DID pay for this, and I'm more and more upset by the minute. This is SCAL 1, and I'm trying to cut an SVG that I made in Adobe Illustrator from a picture I found online. I finally gave up on trying to make my own cuts, and tried to cut an SVG from the forum. It can't even cut a circle. I'm appalled. -_-

This is what happens when I use the shapes already in SCAL's shape table... This is a circle, believe it or not.

I think your cutter is damaged by the blade housing, maybe.

That's what I thought, too, so I cut out a bunch of stuff using my Cricut cartridges. They all worked great. It's something to do with SCAL for sure.

Is your Cricut still under warranty? If it is, then I would try to cut using the trial of Design Studio and see if you get the same results. If it is under warranty and it won't cut correctly with DS DO NOT tell PC that you have SCAL.
Another thing you can try is to reset your Cricut. See this post for instructions. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11840&p=68580&hilit=reset#p68580
