Rapunzel hair

Post by cme »

Wondering if anyone knew of a svg for some simple Rapunzel hair. Wanted to make a turret, and then just have hair coming out of a window. Tried to search for Rapunzel or the mouse movie, but could not find anything yet.

Thanks!

Thank you very much! I've tried to do a crop in either SCAL or Inkscape, but cannot figure it out. Wanted to take the portion that hangs only, like if the hair was hanging out the window. WOul dit be possible to modify the svg to not include the top of the head, else better woul dbe how would I crop it myself?

Hi, I realized after I finished it that you didn't want the "head" part. I was going to redo it but since you are willing to DIY here's how.

In Inkscape draw a rectangle (box) (not the selection tool, over the part you don't want. Do a path/object to path on the rectangle to make it a path. Select both images and do a path/difference and Viola the part that was covered by the rectangle is gone. You might have some nodes to clean up but most likely not.

If you want me to do it I can get to it this afternoon, off to soccer and then basketball today but I'd rather "teach you how to fish"....

or this depending on how much you want to remove.

Was able to do that no problem; however when I brought it into SCAL, and tried blackout (wanting only to get the shape of the hair without the cutout strands), the strands still showed up. So now is there an easy way to get rid of the cutout strands on the inside?

I used shadow blackout not just blackout and it worked for me.

Good for you for trying and I'll keep helping until you get what you want, or someone will :P

Here's the scal2 file for you, just in case. ;)

Tried the shadow blackout and it turned out like a balloon animal, so wide and bulky. Your last file would work exactly like we would need it, however, we are still on SCAL 1. Can you save as a version one since I cannot read the version 2?

Hi, Here's the .svg of the hair that has been shadowed blackout. I don't have SCAL1 anymore.

On the ballooning I'm guessing that you have the shadow blackout set too high (like 1 in.) You can lower to number to .50 or .25 and try it again.

I think we are closing in on it. I hope you post the "final" so we can see it altogether.

Finally finished these. Wife not too happy, thinks they are a bit "blah". Plus she did not want this posted because everyone else always has more bling and these would be boring compared to those. But sometimes, less is more.

On the back it starts out with "Come let your hair down at X's party"
