Jo-Anne, you make me laugh.

I can tell you a little about FairyCut. It's from the creators of the Funtime Software. Funtime is mainly used on the Gazelle and Pazzles machines. There are others but those are the two most popular names in the scrapbook world.

It's great software. I am a Funtime fan. You can download a trial and play with it.

I will warn you that it does not import SVG. You have to convert to DXF and then open in Fairy cut, convert into WPC file to cut. A lot of extra steps.

FairyCut is a full featured vectoring program. That is a huge plus. It has a lot of other features like decorative scissors, your own storage library for your cuts. This is called a Blue Book. There are a billion others but my tired brain doesn't want to comprehend. I blame this on Mini Ninja's Xbox 360. I played it all night. :)

I have tried the trial of Fairy Cut and really liked it. I have a Gazelle and use the Funtime II software. I was already proficient in using it. FairyCut there will be a slight learning curve.

I bought MTC for my Gazelle. I won't use it on my Cricut. I love SCAL too much. I also bought MTC to get the rhinestone feature and then Todd added Rhinestones a week later after I bought MTC. Thanks a lot Todd, lol. Warning would have been nice dude, lol. ;)

I make my lattices in Inkscape. I wouldn't mind a lattice feature in SCAL.

No, your not allowed to leave this board!

ROFLMAO.. You guys are too much. That's why I'm staying here. I've established my second family and it's here.. Yes I wouldn't mind the idea of the scissors in SCAL either.. I love that little feature in there.. The lattice feature is awesome as well... I've been mucking around with the Fairycut and think it's pretty neat. But I'm not about to spend 100 bucks on something that still has bugs to iron out . NOT to mention I was checking out their tutorial videos and I must say I don't like them.. I don't know if you are all like me but I like verbal in the videos not just listening to click click click.. Being as the software is based in Quebec I'm sure the person hardly speaks English as a lot of them don't like to use their English. but still. If I want silent movies I'll go watch and old Laurel and Hardy movie or Charlie Chaplin  .. That's my story and I"m sticking to it..LOL

Sorry you felt they were rude over there as that is not true foe many of our users many will jump right inad help with anything and every thing. I have seen more rudness here on the scal forumand not any where near as muche help in gettin isuues resolved, we each have our own needs and wants out of a program and i own both Scal and MTC scal i had it first it was lacking so went looking and found MTC it has more to offfer and is easier to use now as for fairy cut i would not even touch that one they came out of the starting gate being rude and very decisive a funtime product geared at the cricut market.(my opinion on this sofware( FairyCut) was nope not buying it but like i said this is my opinion.) and we are all entitled to that.

You certainly are entitled to your opinion as I am mine. I didn't say all. And I'm not the first to say this.....

Interesting! It does one thing I just can't believe is not in SCAL yet, the ability to take an eraser to parts of your image. I never learned Inkscape and ESPECIALLY when tracing coloring book pages, there will be certain lines that are sticking out where they shouldn't be and I have a HECK of a time fixing it by moving nodes. I have to do really strange things like welding a rectangle to something to smooth it out, making a face in last night's case, wider than it should be. Very annoying. I wish there was an eraser tool where i can draw a line and then erase all the strange lines that are outside of it.

Becciboo, you can do that already. Just draw your line where you want the cut to be, then close the line so that everything you want removed is inside the new shape. Select both the original artwork and the new "eraser" shape and from the menu use Path/Back minus front. Anything that is inside the front shape will be removed from the original artwork. HTH
