kaesmom,
When I originally asked the question in the first post of this thread, I was trying to do the same thing. When Jancy answered me I remembered that I had it already in an installed font. So don't feel stupid .. I think we all have mental blocks some times. Glad to know you have it figured out. When you get your Palm tree finished let us know.

I did the palm tred. Now I need to figure out how to post it. It's just a basic tree - it was the double lines that were driving me nuts!!

Ok, so how do I upload the image? It's not a jpg - it's an svg file (and now an scut file). I have PSE2.0 but I can't open either of those files with PSE so I can't convert it. how have you all been doing that?

do a screen capture (print screen) & open that in your photo editing software. you can save it as a jpeg from there & post a jpeg here.

that's what I do. I do crop the image down so that all you see is the file image.

OH---fill the areas with color & change the view mode to outline (view: display mode: outline)

Ok, the print screen I was able to do. But changing the colors was beyond me. :)

ETA: ok now I see where you explained how. I had already shut down inkscape and was doing a screen print from SCAL. So this will have to do. :)

After what it took me to do that, I deserve to go to the Bahamas!

Actually, I originally downloaded that font so I could use the tropical images for my cruise scrapbook. but i've since finished taht scrapbook and never got the hang of doing this!! Oh well. Now that I know how to do it, I'll have to take another cruise. :D

okay, so I have no idea how to use inkscape, so when I saw this thread I thought I'd definately be able to figure out how to get a dingbat into inkscape...but I still have NO idea how to do it! I select the font I want....but when I put my cursor on the screen, the font changes back to SANS (default font or something??) I don't know! Like I said, I'm completly clueless so if anyone wants to try and elighten me, please do so.
