If you are talking about the names in the smiles, the best way would be to use a program that has word art such as MS Word. Another option is Envelope distortion in Inkscape, but that distorts the letters quite a bit.

I would love to know how to do this also...I get the name in word art
probably created more work but saved it as a pdf and then converted to jpeg, brought into
inkscape and saved as svg to import to scal
does anyone have an svg for the mouth part, I am horrible at drawing shapes..thanks

nevermind..i found a half circle in clipart and saved as an svg

If you have inkscape this is rather simple,
Draw or get the smile face
Type a name
go to path, object to path
place where you want the smile to be inside the teeth section
ungroup
select a single letter
shift and select the smile at same time.
goto path, select diffirence
and then continue through the name.

I was determined to try this, it was a bit time consuming
but through many trials and erors I finally did it
