cricut cake

Please oh please someone answer this question. I am about to go insane trying to print something with my cricut. I just bought SCAL and can't get this to work. I get the same message about firm ware.
help please???

I read on another site that if you have the latest firmware for cricut expression that you use that setting Cricut Expression as your cutting machine option.. It recognizes the cake one this way... as well.. you don't need cricut cake option.

well, it says I don't have the correct firm ware and then tells me to download correct driver. When I go to download the drivers my pc says that Windows does not recognize them and this could harm my pc.
ugh.....what to do??

I "think" I have it fixed. I did go to the scal website and followed link to download info. It had me download a new driver and then the "cake" appeared in the drop down window.
