New to Scal 2 question

Post by cazann »

Okay so at long last i'm going to take the plunge and ugrade from Scal 1 top Scal 2, and i've downloaded the trial, but when i open it, i get a huge, and i mean huge mat with the pattern on, even though the mat size says it's 12x6,
It's so bad that i can't even make out what the file is that i've inported,
Anyone got any idea, please, i'm still scared stiff on going away from Scal 1. okay i'm a coward but i have a feeling it will make my life a bit easier, any help will be greatly appreciated,
Thanks Carole

When working with SCAL2, I find the size of the shape is huge once imported no matter what size mat you have. The first thing you can do is set the dpi for svgfiles (don't u just love acronyms). Go to Edit>Preferences and on the first tab (General) set the dpi for the software you're using. I am using INK so I have to change it from the default (Adobe) to INK.

Also, you can change the size on the Properties tab. Make sure the Keep Proportions box is checked and change the size for either height or width. I find that changing the dpi works for me. The size is only slightly off and if that is a problem, just check the size before leaving INK and change it once you import in SCAL.
