I know there has to be an easy way to do this. I have an original Cricut so can only use a 6x12 mat. I just downloaded SCAL 2 yesterday and really am clueless. I have some designs (.svg files) that are larger than that (for example 14.4x14.2). I need to break the parts up and make separate "pages" so that I can make things the right colors (it's a two toned flower and leaves-the entire flower takes 5 different colors)). I think I have the breaking it apart piece down, but really seem to make a mess of resizing in the beginning when I start off with a 6x12 mat. Can I start off opening the project on a 12x12 mat in SCAL, break it apart by color, resave the new pages and then reopen them on a 6x12 mat to cut? Does that even make sense? I just worked all night so maybe not:) I'm really excited about this. My grand daughters are coming over tomorrow night so I would like to have some flowers for them to make.
Thanks in advance:)
Deb

Yes, you can open it in a 12x12 mat, do your work, and then change the mat size to 6x12. I would suggest you use the layers rather than pages since that makes it easier to resize the file later and you can still cut just one color at a time if you want. Just click on the eyes next to each layer to hide or reveal the layer. All layers that are showing will cut, so hide any layer you don't want to cut. HTH
