Well I am a NEWBIE!!! I Do not know how to convert these, ANY HELP, or a lesson for dummies would be great!! THANKS!
ALso I though these were SVG?? What am I doing wrong, that I can't open, import, or trace them?

The graphics you have are .png format, but they aren't vectors.
You can get a lot of logos from seeklogo.com. Here are Brown and Colt, but the Armalite I can't help you with.
You can break apart the Browning one to remove the extra lettering.
