cutting problems

Hi all, I am hoping to get some help. I am new to cricut and scal. I have downloaded scal 2 and when I am cutting anything it puts 2 straight lines through the shape which cuts the shape in 3 sections. As soon as the cricut starts to cut the 1st thing it does is cut a straight line straight down the paper the size of the shape, and last thing it cuts is another straight line down the paper. What am I doing wrong. I have figured out how to download digbats and fonts but still trying to figure out the cutting with scal.

You are using the trial version which makes 3 watermark cuts. Once you purchase the full version, the cuts go away.

you are right, I am using the trial version, I still have not recieved the activation code for the program.
