I saw the post earlier about Vectormagic and thought I'd share this with you. I've used it numerous time in the past.

If I am not mistaking.... the new Auto Trace features in SCAL2 will do most of these things for you automatically!
Re: Online bitmapped to SVG conversion
I tried both ROIT and Sure Cuts A Lot for an SVG conversion for the same Mickey Mouse Picture. ROIT worked better in that you could ungroup the picture by colour. SCAL only traced the picture.

eb,
Thanks for sharing this. I am always looking for online SVG tools for the Inkscape-intimidated. Very interesting indeed. Has some options, such as centerline tracing, that Inkscape doesn't have either. Will be fun to play with.

Re: Online bitmapped to SVG conversion
When I tried this I got a .svgz file, which SCAL1 could not read so I still had to take it into Inkscape or Illustrator. Does SCAL2 open .svgz files or is there some way to get uncompressed SVGs from this site?

Re: Online bitmapped to SVG conversion
I tried with SCAL 2 and yes it does open it but the image is a little rough edged... I opened the same image in svg in SCAL 2 and it was a smoother edge.firstcut wrote:When I tried this I got a .svgz file, which SCAL1 could not read so I still had to take it into Inkscape or Illustrator.
