I had joined the ecrafters yahoo group, and apparently the people that volunteered to beta test are awaiting their machines. The company is saying they will be available for christmas, but I don't think they have come in yet.

Here's a link to the group, if anyone is interested in joining:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/eCraft_Crafters/

I'm quite interested in this machine, but apparently the 'do your own thing' pro software won't be available until next year. As with the cricut, I'm not interested in pre-made designs. And apparently the way the machine cuts without the item falling out, is it is attached to the paper by tiny 'chads' and you punch the cut out when the machine is done. The spokesperson says the attached spots are tiny and not noticable, but I guess we will just have to wait and see what the tester say.

Sorry, she only has a promo page for the cutter. It's not actually available.

Disappointing, but not unexpected. The latest from Craftwell on the eCraft:

The arrival of the eCraft is getting closer and we couldn't be more thrilled! We do have some news that might be disappointing to anyone who put the eCraft on their Holiday Wish List. We have decided to postpone the release date of the machines until our official launch at the January CHA show. Aligning these two events together will help us avoid the holiday madness and clutter in the marketplace. It also enforces our marketing plan by enabling us to focus on making a dynamite impact at CHA. That being said, we promise it will be well worth your wait, and if you don't mind getting your gifts 4 weeks late, then keep the eCraft on the top of your list!

Looks like a cool little machine. I love my E so I probably won't be buying it BUT it's nice that those who have yet to get ANY machine will now have a choice. Not good for SCAL though seeing how they won't need to purchase SCAL to cut svgs on this particular machine.

I saw it too, but wondered about features like "Fit to Page" and "Paper Saver". Using the mat and the Cricut you can use little scraps of paper for your cuts.

I am getting excited about this machine cuz I have been able to cut my paper shapes that I need for embroidery and I would love to cut the felt (which is the facric I use sometimes)also. When I cut the felt with scissors, I sometmes cut wrong which can lead to disaster...and this machine will cut felt.
