Did you know when you bought it was double lines? The reason I ask is because I may want to buy some and I want to be careful they aren't double lines. What is the font name if you don't mind telling and where did you buy it from. I am checking some fonts out on Lettering Delights.. Sorry I can't help you find a way to easily fix it. I am still learning inkscape and I don't spend a lot of time on it because I have too much else to do right now... :)

you can manipulate the lines in inkscape or you can cut it as is in different colors & layer the text.

what font is it? not sure what to tell you without seeing it. can you post an image of it as seen in inkscape?

Wait.. I think I know the answer to this one!!

This is done in Inkscape

Ok, I always work in "outline" view.

view > display mode > outline

Ok, then open a text box and type away.

After you are done typing, click off the words and back on the words.

Path > object to path

Then.. on the left side, where all the icons are in a row down the left side, the one under the aarow (2nd one down) its an aarow pointing at a box on a line.. click that.

Ok, a whole bunch of lines and boxes should appear all over your text.

Zoom way in.. so you can see what you are doing. (shift +) Click on a box, thats on a line you want gone.. and just click delete. Keep repeating this until all the unwanted lines are gone.

Then... Path > object again

and save as an .svg file

import to SCAL

I hope that made sense. Good Luck!!

It doesn't show when you buy them. I bought a some awhile back to just print out for use on cards but thought they would be fun to use with SCAL too...I'll try what Adina posted when I have more time! Need to get out of here! There is a slightly easier way to do it than deleting each individual point.

Type one ding in Inkscape. It won't look any different in outline mode until you select Path > Objet to path. Then it will appear double-lined (this is probably where you are now.) Then, click Path > Break Apart. All the individual sections will appear in boxes. Click off to the side to deselect all the boxes, then you can click the individual boxes you want to remove and just delete them.

I have used this successfully with some of the Letteringdelights dingbats, but have others that this doesn't seem to work on. Hopefully it helps with yours.

I managed to do this on another font with double lines and got super excted about it....BUT it seems like the doodlebats don't like inkscape! When I open one it turns into a letter instead of the ding!!! Is there a way to fix that?
