Re: New SVG Freebie
Dan, Thank you so much for this. I plan to make some butterflies to send. This may be a stupid question but I am completely NEW to this whole thing and I don't know how to get the downloaded butterfly svg file into SCAL....how do I save svg files? where do I put them? Right now your butterfly file is sitting on my desktop but I can't just have a bunch of svg files on my desktop......obviously, I am not very computer literate! Thanks for all you do.....I have read so many of your posts and I am starting to get the hang of things (which just wouldn't happen were it not for wonderful people like yourself)!
Thanks again, Dee

Hi
Thanks for joining in with the Butterfly Project!
You can save your SVGs anywhere you like. Make a folder for them (mine is in "My Documents" but you can put yours wherever is convenient for you) and save them to that folder. If you open the folder you can drag the butterflies from your desktop into the folder.
To get them into SCAL, go to the File menu and choose "Import SVG" and then select the SVG file you want. It will appear on your on-screen cutting mat. You probably want to change it's size, so check the "Keep Proportions" box in the properties window, then either type in a value for the width or height you'd like, or use your mouse to grab the handle at the bottom right of the shape and drag it to resize the image.
I hope that helps!
