working in Inkscape

I installed a new font and go into Inkscape. Actually don't know much about working in Inkscape. How do you TYPE in inkscape - would be nice to type like you're in word processing, but not able to!! HELP

In the toolbar to the left, there is a "T". That is the Text tool. Click on that and then click in your artboard and start typing.

You click on the T at the top of the window to select your font settings. You can do this either before or after you type your text. You click on the A to the left of the window, then click in your document to start typing.
