cropping out section question
Is there a way to crop out a section of a picture in inkscapes that you want to work with instead of working with the whole picture?

Re: cropping out section question
If you are asking about a bitmap image, you would have to use the Object/Clip/Set. Then you would have to make a bitmap copy. If you are asking about a vector, then you have several options. See Dan99's video for removing parts of an svg. http://dan99.blogspot.com/2008/12/video ... f-svg.html
Re: cropping out section question
I was just trying to do this. When I went to Object/Clip/Set, I couldn't get anything to surround the object. What am I doing incorrectly? This is a bitmap image that I am working with.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Re: cropping out section question
You need to make the shape first using one of the shape tools or the bezier tool. Then select both your shape and the image and Object/Clip/Set.
