I'm trying but....

Post by SnOwEy16 »

Please help.... I have an svg image that contains four circles (one's scalloped, one plain, etc) and I need to separate them but I'm not having any luck and I've clicked everywhere. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

If you can post the .svg file here without copyright infringement we'd be happy to look at it and figure it out for you.

One thought. When you click on the circle is it all one box that selects? If so you can try Object/ungroup, click off the image and click on again. If you see faded dotted type boxes around each circle you've got them separated and you can then move them apart. This is just a guess.

If all of the parts are lumped together, you need to look at the message bar at the bottom of Inkscape to know what you have to do to separate them.

If it says path, use Path/Break apart.
If it says group, use Object/ Ungroup.

If you remember where you downloaded the file, post a link and someone can help you with more detail.
