Help - Scalloped edge

Post by SnOwEy16 »

I would love to put a scalloped edge on my 12 x 12 page.... I know it would make the paper smaller but that's ok..... Does anyone have a suggestion how to do this... I know it's probably very simple, I just don't know how. TIA

It is very simple in Inkscape, not necesarily as simple to explain how. :D
  • First you draw a square, 12"x12"
For my example I am using 1" circles. Draw 1.
I select my circle, and by pressing the space bar while holding the mouse button, I can make "stamped" copies of the circle. I do this on one side of the square, then select those circles and repeat for the other sides.
Using the alignment tools, align the circles against each edge of the square
Using the distribute tools, distribute the circles by the centers on each side of the square.
    Delete the square
    Select all (control A)
    Path/Union
    Path/Break apart
Click off the drawing. Select the center part and delete.
Let me know if I am not clear. :D
