SCAL SIZE

Post by hstarkey »

I JUST PURCHASED SCAL AND INSTALLED THAT AND INKSCAPE ON MY COMPUTER. I IMPORTED A PICTURE OF A LION TO INKSCAPE. AFTER I EDITED IT AND BROKE IT DOWN TO THE DIFFERENT COLORS TO CUT ON MY CRICUT CREATE, I IMPORTED IT TO SCAL ACCORDING TO COLOR, BUT WHEN IT WAS CUT THE SIZES WERE NOT IN THE SAME PROPORTION, AND I DID NOT CHANGE THEM FROM THE WAY THEY WERE IMPORTED. CAN SOMEONE OUT THERE HELP ME OUT?

When you import an svg into SCAL, it takes the size from your default size in your Library window, so everything will be the same size unless you change it.

One of the nice things about SCAL is that you can put several different colors of paper on your mat to cut at the same time. I like to leave everything in the same file, and move it on the virtual mat as needed to cut all of the colors. I rarely need to move it more than once, and I have the original cricut.

Other people do like to separate the colors, in which case you need to know what size to bring the pieces in at. Another option would be to use mat size markers to define the size. See this tut for help with that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5d-nDjs3bg
