Won't ungroup.....HELP please???

Ok, I have a page of swirls. SVG. There are maybe 8 on one page. I can't seem to seperate them. I have tried ungroup, and everything else to break them apart.
What am I doing wrong? Please help, I really like these designs.

Click on your object so that it is active. Click Object -> Ungroup, click on the object, click Object -> Ungroup. Repeat until they ungroup. Sometimes you just have to do this multiple times before it takes.

If it looks like they are still grouped, try moving the object. Sometimes objects can be stacked on each other and you can tell whether they're still grouped.
