Help with text

Post by DaisyMom »

Hi everyone!
I'm new here and have been searching the forum for an answer to my question. If it's already been
answered, I apologize.
My daughter and I are trying to make make Valentine's for her class.
We want the words "Happy Valentine's Day!" to be stacked like this:
Happy
Valentine's
Day!
And we want them welded so that we don't have to glue down each individual letter.
We need to make 20 of them but I can't figure out how to put several on the mat (select all doesn't work, I'm gathering :? )
Here's what I've tried so far:
I've tried typing the whole phrase out at once but then the program won't allow me move "valentine's" and 'Day" to their desired positions.
I've tried making it three different words but then I'm unable to select all to join the words and move them as a group so that I can
place many on the mat for cutting without moving and repositioning each one.
Can someone tell me if how do this- if there's a way!!!
Thanks in advance!!!

The best way to do that is to use Inkscape. If you would like, I can do it for you if you tell me what font you would like.

Thanks Heather! I appreciate the offer so much, but I figured Inkscape would be my best bet so I started with that this morning (in between making breakfast and cleaning the kitchen) and am nearly done getting the way I want it.
So, I'm not missing anything- you can't select all in SCAL?
Thanks again!
ETA: Finished it!
