HELP A DUMMY PLEASE

Post by seabeetim »

Although I don't lack in self esteem, I know my strengths and weaknesses, hence the topic title.

I bought this machine to letter my race car.

Two questions (For Now)

How do I take a piece of clipart and get it to the mat? I'm thinking Nuclear Science is easier.

How do I change the settings so everything I cut, cuts vertical vice horizontal?
If you don't follow that, if I have a 24 inch roll and a 36 inch design, I need to cut it length ways, vice width ways.

Answers to these complex questions would totally be appreciated and or any and all tips.

Thanx in advance

Let's get some info first. What version of your computer OS are you using, what version of scal/ecal are you using an of course which cutter.

There are a bunch of video's here: http://www.craftedge.com/tutorials/ and even more on youtube.com

A good place to start is to open each menu across the top of the scal program, that's where you set up things like cutter preferences, and what kind of file you want to import

If your design is a jpg or a png you get it on the mat using the TRACE icon, this will place your file onto the mat.
If your design is a svg then the svg import is the one to use.

Although right now it seems like rocket science it really isn't once you play with the program.
