SCAL 2 with Windows 8

I am not sure what the problem could be - but I am now running Windows 8 - when using SCAL 2 if you hold down keyboard keys for just a bit like to slide an object over for instance - SCAL shuts down to "Not responding" have to shut down and start over again - usually losing my design and start over with it.... this does not happen when I use my old Dell computer - that's why I assume it has something to do with Windows 8

I don't know as I use a mac but it might be Scal 2, being an old software, and might not be compatible with window 8
