Post by molliels »

Can someone please tell me this program works. I have tried to figure it thinking it would be easy but that isn't the case. Thanks Mollie

I use it often. The program will add shapes to the Shape Library.

You create your design in INK and save the shapes separately according to how you want to pull them into the SCAL file.
For instance, you might put all the body parts together in one file, all same colors in a file and so on and so on. Make sure all the pieces fit correctly because once you open them in SCAL, all grouped shapes will be sized proportionally.
Open the LIU.
Click on Add File. Select all the files you want for the Shape Set. I ususally click on the first file, hold down shift and click on the last file (when they are all together with no other files between them).
Change the library name; click on Export (I export my file in the library which is C:\Program Files\Craft Edge\Sure Cuts A Lot\Library) if you installed SCAL using the default settings.
Open SCAL and it should be a set of shapes in the Shapes Tab

I have no idea why you are getting an error message.

To Christine - SCAL lib is a program that allow you to add shapes to the SCAL library. It was developed by Craft Edge and the download is on the Craft Edge site but I have no idea where to find it. Todd developed it a long time ago. He sent the link to me so you can probably get it the same way also...just email him and he will send you the link.

It is a great program. When I design paper piecing that have more than one file, I can put them all in one place.

If that is the case, maybe there is a limit of files that can be in the library.

Hi there
Yes it would appear so, which is fine. It does slow the program loading though now.
Has anyone else any comments/hints etc?

This forum really is the best :D
