OK, really getting angry now...
Finally got the Mac to recognize the Cricut Create. Cut a few page titles with it, using SCAL, no problem. Then today, after not using it for a few days, it cuts 2-3 letters of a title, then stops and freezes up. I have to close it down and it says there was an error cutting. I have to shut down the...

Re: Firmware Releases
I was updating the firmware on my laptop (PC) and then installed SCAL on my desktop (Mac). On the laptop, I had the USB calbe connected directly to the laptop, but on the desktop, I had it connected through a hub. So that may be the problem. I will try again connecting directly to a USB port on the...

Re: Firmware Releases
I check with the Yahoo Group I belong to "SCALHints" and the firmware version 1.52 works with SCAL 1.016 works just fine on someone else's Cricut machine. I'm befuddled as to why this isn't working with your machine. Do you have your Cricut machine hooked up directly to your computer's US...

Re: Firmware Releases
Firmware on Cricut continues to say 1.52, even though I "updated" the firmware to version 1.51. SCAL version 1.016. How long does the firmware update take on your Cricut machine? Is it around 10 minutes or so? (I'm just trying to find SOME reason why the darn firmware isn't being changed....

Re: Firmware Releases
Then you need to install the trial version of Design Studio from the December '08 update. I did install SCAL from the link you posted. And I replaced the firmware files in DS with the older version and did the "update." But my Cricut still shows the newest firmware, and SCAL doesn't work....

Re: Firmware Releases
Yeah, once you have updated to the most current version, it won't let you go back to an older version. So the software I bought is completely useless from the get go.

Re: SCAL/MACs/FIRMWARE ISSUE--Help Please!
OK, I have the firmware file, but how do I install it on the Cricut? I tried following the same steps I took before when it updated to 1.52, but I can't figure out how to "activate" the firmware file and get it over to the Cricut machine...
