I only have the original scal I didn't get the chance to upgrade. Is there a way to do it in inkscape maybe?

If an svg file has multiple designs on it, but I just want one of them, is there a way to break it apart so that I don't have to cut everything on it?

I am trying to clean up an image to cut on my vinyl cutter... I know this forum is for SCAL and I have that too, but I am trying to cut a bigger image on my vinyl machine. When importing an image into AI there are double lines. Is there a way to get rid of the double lines? Thanks in advance Crystal...
