Inkscape and Finding Images

Post by ErinLovesRats »

I'm curious, how much time should I set aside for learning inkscape? I'm pretty good at learning different software, and I'm good at photoshop. Inkscape just seems confusing so I'm not sure when I should sit down and look at the tutorials.

Also, how do you know what images you can use with it? I mean, in regards to copyright and stuff...

Here's some I made for inkscape http://scrappydew.com/tutorials/VideoLibrary/. Just click the inkscape tab.

Also Kay(firstcut) has been putting together a bunch of video tutorials from different places. It's like a Master List of inkscape, scal, cricut....etc.

I would learn a little at a time as to not become so overwhelmed.. I had photoshop before I had Inkscape and I find inscape a whole lot easier to learn..

Thought I would suggest this...You mentioned you had Photoshop. Do you also have Illustrator? If so you can skip Inkscape and just save SVGs out of Illustrator and import those into SCAL.

If you have Adobe Bridge you can use that to view your svg files and open them from there into either Inkscape or AI. HTH
