Not able to cut on Cricut Create

Hi
Is there anyone out there who can please help me. I am a new user just registered and loaded everything and have tried to cut an imported svg file but it doesn't actually cut. I have updated the software but it is 1.52 does this mean that it won't cut! If so can anyone tell me how to back track to 1.51 as I can't seem to find that option on Cricut website


I've managed to cut from the sure cuts alot downloads so the issue is with my imported svg file any clues??????

Are you saying that you can cut with Sure Cuts A Lot but just not certain svg files? Or are you saying that it does not work at all.

It does cut with Sure Cuts a lot just not svg files. I scanned an item into Inkscape and created a svg file imported this to Sure Cuts a Lot it goes through the process of appearing to work but then says cut complete without having cut the shape.

When you use the preview on the svg file in SCAL what do you see?

It's all greyed out with no red outline so I think it can't be seen but don't know how to change this. Do you think I will have to draw over the picture? Or is there a clever way to highlight the outlines and therefore show it through to SCAL?

The two most likely possiblilities I can think of are that either you moved the file and moved it outside of the yellow bounding box in SCAL or you used Object/Group in Inkscape. Open the file in Inkscape, use Control A and make sure that it only lists "Path" and not "Group" in the message bar at the bottom of the Inkscape window. If it lists Group then Object/Ungroup until the message bar no longer lists Group.
