Font too skinny to cut?

Hi,
Another newbie question about fonts.....I downloaded KK Monogram and love it. I tried to cut 3 letters welded together. The letters were too "wispy" and didn't hold together when I pulled the paper off the mat. I want to cut a monogram out of vinyl for the car window. I need for the letters to be fat enough to be sturdy, but still look like the font. I went to "Properties" and clicked "Shadow" but it changed the look of the letters. Didn't look as elegant. How do I "fatten" up the letters so they will still look right? Any help would be appreciated! Sonya

Did you change the number of the shadow to "1"? There is a box to the right of the drop-down box when shadow is selected that lets you adjust the size of the shadow. 1 is the smallest. You can also use the linked offset feature in Inkscape.

This is an example of a monogram I did with that font with the shadow set to 1. Once I learned this tip I was able to put a lot of my fonts back into the cuttable category.

I tried setting it to "1", but most of the letters on the sides disappeared. Weird. The letter in the middle didn't disappear, but the ones on each side of it disappeared when I set them to 1. Any advice? Hmmmm......Thanks for any input!

I've tried to download this font a thousand times and it always says that this is not a valid font file when I try to install it. I downloaded it from
www.abstractfonts.com. Do you have any suggestions? Did you have trouble installing it? Please help!! I'm about to go NUTS!!!
BTW... I did unzip it first. LOL

When you unzipped and extracted it did you right click on the file that extracted and hit install???? You have to install the font first. If you are just clicking on the file that is why you get the error message.

WOW! I didn't know you could change the size of the shadow to make a font more cuttable. I've had it a year. Where is that handy info in any of the tuts out there? Someone missed that! I'm excited.
As to this font, it's gorgeous! I can't wait to find it! Thanks gals!
