Where to start . . .

Post by Moxie »

Just had my Cricut expression a week. Hope its ok to ask the obvious but would like to get going and am very overwhelmed. I am a Mac user and I am confused about what inkscape is and where it comes from and if its for MAcs and then all the firmware and stuff! My Brother in law is staying this weekend and has his PC here so I could get started .... but not sure where to start?

:?

Thank you.

I have updated firmware, downloaded trial version of SCAL and, I think, Inkscape and X11?? but no idea how to test it all. All the tutorials look further down the road for e.g. after everything is definately working.

For eg. how do I get a SVG file from Inkscape to SCAL?

SOrry If I am seeming thick!!!! (do feel it though!)

Just save it in inkscape, open scal and choose import svg. That's it. I strongly recommend the tutorials at scrappingtable.com. great for beginners.
