Help with dingbats in inkscape

HI there....does anybody know why I can't see dingbats in inkscape? I know there are tutorials (susan b robot) that shows how to clean them up, but I can't even get them to show up under the text/font tab. I made sure the dingbat font was actually installed, but they still won't show up. Please help!?!

What operating system are you using? Also, did you open Inkscape after you installed the dingbats? If not, you have to do that so the font list will refresh.

I'm using vista. And yes, I made sure the dingbat font is installed. I just can't bring up any dingbats in inkscape.

My question was regarding the order in which you did the operations. Did you install the dingbat font first, then open Inkscape?
Other than that, I'll have to defer to someone else since I'm not using Vista.

I'm having the same problem and I am also using Vista!!! Does yours show up on the SCAL? Mine shows up there, but not on Inkscape.

I don't use Visata - use XP - but sometimes I find if you find where you save your dingbats to (for XP it is in our fonts folder) then just double click on the font/dingbat you want so it opens the screen then open Inkscape it is there.
No guarantees but give it a try.
