Great website for purse templates!

Post by bstreeter »

I just found a bunch of awesome purse templates on splitcoast stampers, and a link to the website with all of them. They are fairly easy to convert to scal files if you have inkscape. So I had to share!

http://melstampz.blogspot.com/2008/03/p ... ndbag.html

Steps I took to convert some files:
1- Downloaded a template
2- Opened it up on my screen and pushed "prnt scrn" button (making sure the whole template is visible on the screen first)
3- Pasted it into Paint and saved it
4- Opened inkscape and imported file
5- Traced in inkscape and viola! Its ready for import into SCAL

If you have questions, I can try to help!

How do you trace in inkscape?

Thanks for the great link. Some of these are PDFs, which means you don't have to go through all of those steps. Just open up the PDF with Inkscape and (assuming it is not already a vector you can just ungroup) start tracing.
Toya, just select the bitmap image you want to trace and under the path menu select trace bitmap. You may have to play with the settings to get the results you want.
