Ecal continues to crash and close down

I am working on this file:
viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3630 (I am hoping to do print and cut)
I have entered my text into my psp program, saved as a png.
I open the dress file and put it on my mat.
I then go to TRACE and locate the file.
The software then crashes.
Any advice?

You don't need to trace this .svg...it is just an outline, ready for cutting...you just need to put your words with it.
To do that, you use FILE and PLACE your image of your words on the dress.

I'm confused so before I answer this I need some clarification.

Step 1. You imported the dress svg file yes? and it is on your mat.

Then you used the image icon to import and trace the png file for the text image .png?

When your program tried to import the png file it crashed? Check to see how BIG your png file is. If it is too large either in dpi or pure size it will crash eCAL. A dpi of 90-150 and a dimension size of about 4 x 6 inches should be fine.

You do have the latest version of eCAL? 1.005?

I done these steps with my own files today and it worked just fine.
