I'm New here - got questions

Post by DollyePatterson »

Hello all!

I'm new here so please forgive any silly questions I might ask. I'm exhausted with trying to educate myself via the internet - whew!

I have a Cricut Personal v1.34 - my Aunt bought it on QVC some time back and never used it so she gave it to me. I have read that you can download SCAL to use it with the Cricut and now I'm finding out that you cannot.
Which is it?

Is there ANYTHING that you can use with the Cricut besides Design Studio that allows you to cut your own designs?

Please help? - I'm so confused!!

Thank you so much!!

I don't think so...you could google about it and see if other programs allow it to work.
Scal does not work with any of those machines anymore, for new downloads.
My pictures and files are available for a limited time only.

Unless you can find a copy of SCAL 2 for sale somewhere, but you'd need to make sure it's legit. However, people are selling them for way too much, so it's not easy to find it.

Be careful buying SCAL2. It is not transferrable.

you cant use anything but design studio on your cricut even if you found the old scal, your new cricut has already been updated not to be able to use it, only the older cricuts can as long as they havent been updated. My advice to you is to sell your cricut and buy a different cutter if you are wanting to create your own designs without the use of buying cartridges. provo craft has made cricut a scrapbooking device only for use with their things ( and are way over priced by the way), when you buy a silhouette, eclips, or any other plotter they can be used for anything.
