Any ideas???

Post by bands321 »

I have had SCAL for a while and just recently had to get a new laptop (a mac). I clicked on the "lost serial number" link and got an email with my name and serial number. (I've done this before when I had to re-install on my old laptop) This time for whatever reason it tells me the serial number is invalid. Has anything changed? Is there a reason it might be wrong now?

I've sent an email to support but I'm going crazy trying to get it to work so I can make my Christmas cards :)

Thanks!

I think you can only have SCAL on 2 machines. If you have had to enter your access code in before (plus the original time) it might consider you are now trying for a third machine. So I think you will have to talk to Todd and he will sort it out.

This is not true. Generally, people use it on only two machines, but I've had it on 3 or 4 hard drives before - my desktop before it crashed, my new hard drive, my old laptop and my new laptop. I did have to have Todd's help with the second install as my information was not recognized. I think the other ones went smoothly.

I got it worked out with Todd's help.

I had ask for a "lost activation" code twice before (having laptop issues, had to reinstall from scratch) each time, each time that acted as one of my "two" computers. When I got my new laptop, I had already used the "two" codes on "two" machines and my real activation code would no longer work. Todd cleared the code and now I have it reinstalled on my new laptop and have one more I can use.

Hope that made sense :)
