Hi.
SO, I have had the machine 3 weeks, I am on my second project, and I hate my machine.
Each time I have tried to use it, I have a problem. Every time I turn the machine on and have it connected to the computer,
it says it can't find it. So, I have to go through turning it off unplugging it, plugging it back in turning it on at least 3 times for it to find the machine. Yeah....annoying
Today, I am trying to cut a dog biscuit out.
Mat is 12x12
Paper is 8.5 x 11 landscape
Image dimensions are W 10.766 x H 5.539
My error message reads TOO LARGE FOR CURRENT MATERIAL. DECREASE SIZE OR CHANGE MATERIAL SIZE.
So, in fiddling around with it, I have to go down to 7x3 in order for it to accept the command to cut.
Ridiculous.
This is a free file that I downloaded. I am attaching it to see if anyone else besides me has a problem.
I just can't see what I am doing wrong.
Thanks in advance.
(Sorry if I sound a bit cranky about everything.)

Re: Eclips error for cutting material
Occasionally, even with scal2 and my old cutter, it will say it can not find the cutting machine...I just click the scissors a second time and it cuts.
I am not familiar with your cutter and software, so I am sorry that I don't know about the sizing. I do believe there were some posts regarding that though and maybe you could find answers via the search.

Re: Eclips error for cutting material
Lets see if we solve one problem....when I open your image into eCal (and if you are using 8.5 x 11 paper) the image is too large for the paper material size. Even if your mat is set at 12 x 12, if you have chosen the paper size of 8.5 x 11 the image measures about 10" wide if it is set on Vertical orientation. So check to see if you have on vertical or horizontal orientation.
Not sure why your computer is not seeing the cutter. What operating system are you using on your computer and is it a PC or a Mac.
Try this to start. Make sure your USB cable is plugged in "before" starting up eCAL.

Re: Eclips error for cutting material
Sandy....not sure I understand.
My paper is landscape (horizontal) the length of it is 10.76 ( less than 11 inches)
Does that help any?
I'm not seeing that as too big for my paper.
Am I missing something?

Re: Eclips error for cutting material
Have now down sized my image to 10x6.5.
It is still to large for the paper.
Made sure it is set at landscape.
I am really hoping someone can help me as I was hoping to use this for St. Patricks day photos

Re: Eclips error for cutting material
Don't you have to take into account the .25 inch margins, like with scal 2. So that would mean the largest you could cut is 11.5 square. And isn't there something about calibrating the eclipse when it is first purchased...thought I read something about that.
Well, I do hope that this get resolved, so that you can enjoy your machine.

Re: Eclips error for cutting material
I had this problem with 12 x 12 and ended up exporting it as an svg and then opened it again and it worked. Then I had the problem with 12 x 24 when I had both the mat and material size set to 12 x 24. Leo from Svgcuts looked into it for me since there is not any documentation on it and said For now, simply change the orientation to vertical instead of landscape and it will work. Looks like it's a bug and will be fixed in the next update!

I have also had the problem of the elcips saying it wasn't found. I was trying to plug it in through a hub and that
can't be done. It has to be plugged straight into a usb slot. Now when I have that problem it is usually because I have moved the machine and something has come loose on the back of the Eclips.

Re: Eclips error for cutting material
Got the same message with 8.5 x 11 (even after resizing the image). Change you material size to 12 x 12, put orientation on vertical and it will cut. (I didn't save as an svg...just did what I said here.)
Will send this on to CE too and see if it is a bug. Everything is so new, it is good to find these things out and report them.
