Baby burp cloths w/ SCAL

Post by TheresaTT »

Ok, here is my project for today. I cut the shapes with my Expression and SCAL of course. The shapes are in the shape library under basic shapes and newborn and of course the letter is in fonts. H - for Harper. ;) My first grandbaby (boy). I am also including a pic of the interfacing i used. I ironed the interfacing onto the material then put it on the mat and cut. Interfacing side down for my shapes. Oh yea, i used a deep cut blade. My other one didn't work but i don't know if it was dull from other usage or just won't do material well.

What a creative idea and thank you for taking the pictures of the interfacing you used. I've heard of others cutting material but have not tried it. Always thought it would catch and not cut neatly, but yours looks great. Is the key putting the interfacing on the material before cutting?

Theresa - those came out so cute. I've only cut fabric once and it worked really well. I can't remember what brand iron-on backing I used, but I will have to try this one since I have it in my stash. Nice job and congratulations on you becoming a grandma. I'm still waiting, but my grandniece is doing just fine. I love her to bits. :D

Sandy, It cut pretty good. Most of the cuts were complete but sometimes i had to do a few snips. Everywhere i have read said put the interfacing on first so i did for stablization.
Thanks guys.
