Hi there,
I am fairly new to this forum and I love Scal, I have a file that I think I switched to SVG. I have spent frustrating hour and half trying to make this show up in SCAL it show up in inkscape just fine. Please if someone has a moment to take a look at this file and let me know if I am doing something wrong. Thanks so much.
Beth

Re: Help
You just imported your picture (which is great by the way) but didn't trace it. Check out the Inkscape forums and to see how to trace.
You might want to try this now.

Beth
The file gatechgal sent you has both your original image plus the one drawn by Inkscape.
Open up the file and go to View - Display Mode - Outline. This is always a really good screen to go to as it will show you what is going to cut.
You will see that your image is there plus a box with the red X through it.
Click into the image and drag it sideways so you can see two different images - the image you want outlined and then the red X. You can delete the red x image as it is your original jpg and is of no use now.
Now you can see what will cut. If you go back to View - Display Mode - Normal it is still black but that is just because on this normal screen you can colour your image for your own reference.
Hope that helps.
Now you can save the image and then go into SCAL and IMPORT the svg file in and you should be good to cut. You will have to resize in SCAL and then just check the preview of it in SCAL and away you go.
Hope that makes some sense.

Locking up in cutting shadows
Why is my SCAl locking up right at the end of cutting a shadow? In fact, I finally had to cancel by turning off my machine and I still have the " Cutting with Cricut mat" window on my screen. It will not close. I closed SCAL and reopened and the window is still there. I can cut in normal cut but when I cut a shadow, it does not complete my cut and just stops running and locks up. any ideas? I am trying to get ready for a weekend crop and really want everything working. Thanks for any help.
