I've owned my SCAL for about a month now, and am attempting the pantry project of my life! I can't seem to get this quatrefoil to print correctly though. I thought I figured out 'welding'---went to print and it pretty much printed NOTHING! Could someone (anyone!) take a look and see what I am doing wrong?
Sarah, were you printing from Inkscape, SCAL, or ????
Did you intend to have 3 panels that you were printing separately? The 3 pieces now measure about 25.5" x 11.5" inches. That could be the problem with printing, or not if you have paper that big.
Let us know where and how you were trying to print them.
Nice design and a lot of work I bet. We'll get it done.
I appreciate your help to no end! Am using SCAL, 12X24 mat. Hoping to print the design to just fit that, but got lost somewhere trying to take advantage of the entire mat!
Sorry, I don't understand "got lost somewhere" does that mean that you were able to print it by making it a bit smaller or that you are still having problems?
Even if I make it fit the mat, it still isn't cutting. I'm not sure if when I was messing around with it, trying to make sure it would cut all connected, if maybe I messed something up? When I went to do a test cut, it literally just made little slits on the mat and did nothing.
From what you see, should it be cutting just fine? I figured I would try and see if it would cut, despite the fact that it was too big for the end of the mat (embarrassing myself with my lack of SCAL knowledge here). Will it not do that?
Want I am trying to do is put this quatrefoil design on the wall(s) of my pantry. I'd like it to be as close to the 12X24 mat measurement as possible, since that's how I am measuring my pantry as well. The quatrefoil that I downloaded is only one 'square' and so I put 3 of them on the 12X24 mat. Problem now is getting them to cut as one piece, and, fit the mat.
Sarah, I just took one of the panels and copy/pasted it into a new file. Opened in SCAL2 and cut it. It cut just fine at 8.5 x 11.4.
Try one and see if it cuts, if so we can work on how to get them the size you want them.

Here is one of my favorite video's from Carolyn or Aussie Carolyn. She does the exact design you have, perhaps it will help straighten out the pattern.
