What is happening here?

Post by maureen59 »

I have noticed that people are leaving!!. What has happened? When I joined a while ago, everyone was talking to each other, posting designs etc etc, happy and friendly. Now..... what a shame that it has come to this. Most of what I have learnt has come from this forum, I hope no-one else decides to leave. No Todd, No sweetness, all I can say is what a shame. And shame on you if you are guilty of driving them away.

I think sweetness (JoAnne B) is still fairly regular which is great because we like to banter with one another! :D (She's my bud!)

I've had new demands on my time the last year and a half because for some insane reason my husband and I thought it would be a good idea to buy a couple of old buildings in our little town...so they have demanded time and energy to get them in order...and we do most of the work ourselves but it does give me a home for some of my projects among other things but cuts in on the design time I have available...so that's my excuse for not being here as much!

I had a financial set back that left me with no internet for a while. But I am back but just not posting as much as I was. It is good to see you though. You two are some of ones I was missing when i couldn't log on. Hope all is well

Back at ya Darcy! Of course I'm used to interacting with some members here on other forums too...so I feel like I have more contact (speaking of that, I still have to post in your hoarding thread and oh, I will! But I refuse to take pictures yet!) LOL! :o

Like many forums the participation tapers off after a while...people get busy with their lives, or things happen that don't allow them to participate as much. Sometimes the cyber-bullying gets to people or the cyber-tough guys come in and disrupt the flow of the forum. That usually causes people to get turned off from a site. What ever the reason it happens to all sites. I'm mostly a lurker around here. I like to read all the posts and comment every once in a while. This site has helped me a lot with projects and techniques. Everyone here I consider to be nice and friendly!! I hope it picks up once again, also the PC thing didn't help especially since that is what brought everyone together here in the first place.
If you aren't learning something new everyday you might as well just lie in a grave and wait for death.

I too, mostly lurk, but do thank people for sharing files and sometimes when I have a strong opinion on something I post. After I got my expression, heard about SCAL and bought it, I haunted this place day and night reading posts and snagging some files in order to learn how to use my cutter with this great software. Very informative indeed. When "forum leaders" don't post as often or leave, it sort of changes the dynamics but given some time I believe this forum will be quite active again. Summer and outside stuff takes priority over internet forums, but my early morning coffee, checking email and my forum visits are still intact.

I'm still here. Will post more (and hopefully designs too) when summer does start for me....I teach and can't wait to get more time to do this. Don't dismay...people will be around I am sure.
